Area in draw pan where thermostats are located is just punched and edges rolled so they are sharp.
Wires come up behind draw pan to t-stats and can chaff against sharp edge. Doesn't take much to cut thru wire insulation and 120V AC (Black wire) makes contact with metal draw pan. Typically it is the bottom one that chaffs against edge
Top t-stat is High Temp (resettable) (180*F) Bottom t-stat is Normal Temp (130*F)
Same set up on right set...RED wires...but 12V DC for propane system
