hydraulic slide opens premature

When operating the hydraulic slides pressure build. When you stop movement pressure remains between the pump and valve or cylinder. I find to relieve the latent pressure I can cycle the selector valves on the other slides and I can hear the pressure dump back to tank. Does that make sense?

Valve leaking allowing the pressure to bleed off. Do you have selector valves? If so, cycle them a couple of times and see what happens.
