- HarvardExplorerLooks more like something made to create problems. :B
- john_betExplorer III will take a stab at it. It looks like a common 3-5 kva 120/240v transformer rigged to to give an out put of either 120v on low or 240v on high. Either way the`watts available will be the same depending on its kva rating. Example if a 3 kva with an input of 120v the input amps will be 25 with an output voltage of 240v the output amps will be 12.5. Not sure of what benefit that would be. That being said I could see it of more benefit if it was a 12/240v 3kva used in a boost mode to increase a low voltage situation. Without a view of the label we are only guessing. My guess is that someone made this item up to fix a specific problem that they had. JMHO.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIIt is either a buck/boost transformer, not necessarly automatic, or a noise filter, or both.. I'm not sure it is something Id want since it has a home made look about it. Though that said, I likely could figure out how to use it to my advantage..
The LOW/HIGH switch suggests it can both boost and buck voltage. - Dusty_RExplorer30 amps in 50 out. Can't do that without reduicing the output voltage.

bumpy - Mandalay_ParrExplorerForget it.
- AllegroDNomadIf attached to the flux capacitor you get 1.21 JIGOWATTS! That will power 6 AC, 2 MW, Elec WH & 3 hair dryers.
- BFL13Explorer IIIs there a clean-out door at the back not showing for all the dirty electrons that pile up inside? Will the land-fill dump take that stuff these days?
- C-Leigh_RacingExplorerSeems like I remember those things from years ago, but I think its something like a trip box, like if for some reason wires in the camp system should get crossed & short & that box will stop the short from getting to you RV.
I could stand corrected though, like a far distant memory that stuck with me. Now 10 minutes from now I might not remember this at all, boy gittin old is fun.
