Spec's Part number 29330960142005 Dometic Fridge RM2454 Prod#9211401-19Helping a neighbor fix his fridge and I worked it back to a bad igniter. The problem is Dometic no longer supplies this part, and if I do see one on the net, it's way overpriced ($150.)My plan is to replace the igniter with the following one (note that his model number is not in their list of compatibility.) ClickyI can not see why it should not work. Anyone have prior experience with this problem, or any other "useful" tech input. ASAP noted that they did not know if it would work, and do not take responsibility for the results. Dometic has no input on this problem either. Thanks in advance.

I really cannot think of a reason it would not work- the rest of the system is the same as units that use the reignitor you listed, and it is wired the same, but it is odd that none of my breakdowns list that as an alternate.

The ancient Dometic fridge in our "new" 1981 camper has an igniter that was not working, but I found it was covered with soot flakes, so now it works. Before I found that out, I was told at an RV shop that I could rig up one using a BBQ igniter which are not very expensive.

This reigniter that you gave the link for is the one used in all of the other sized refrigerators- unless they use a main board with the onboard igniter, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work- it's wired the same as the other models which use the this igniter, and uses the same board.

I do not know enough about your fridge but I will make this comment.Dometic (And Norcold as well) uses two diferent ignition/sense systemsSingle wire and double wire.The Single wire ignightor can be made to work on BOTH systems, but the double wire ignightor WILL NOT WORK on the single wire system.here is way.The Double wire job, the flame sensor is the 2nd wire, a second "rod" (Thermocouple) that is heated by the flame.The Single wire model, the single rod does both jobs, it lights the fire, and it senses the fire,, and the control board (OEM) flakes the switch and pops a chip, so the replacement board (Dinosaur) has a neat little gas discharge tube to prevent that from happening.
