Racefan, I was running BFG Commercial tires that I was pleased with load range E. BFG is owned by Michelin. They had over an 100,000 tire recall and mine were in that. Since I wanted to stick with a conventional tread tire, Michelin authorized LT XPS which has steel sidewalls. I had paid around $750 for the BFG and they were replaced with $1350 XPS mounted and balanced even trade. Had heard folks talking about Michelin but at the time that was a little too big a bite so I settled for the BFG. I was quite happy when they replaced them with the Michelin.
