Just keep in mind that there is two type of RV'ers being discussed here... There are RV TRAVELERS that owns the massive big rigs and moves all over the place ending up staying at the hugh resorts and bringing alot of items along with them called the comforts of home...
Then there is the other type of RV'ers CAMPERS that want to camp off the beaten paths way back in the woods so to speak and have a more modest smaller type camper and only bring along things that they really need to camp off the beaten path.
We more or less are more like the RV CAMPERS and very seldom see a WALMART parking lot. Generators for us are mostly used to recharge our batteries and perhaps being supplemented with solar panels and have to fight all of the rules and regulations of the local areas that even allow the use of generators. The East side of the USA is more of a problem area with the use of generators in controlled areas as compared to the wide open areas in the West.
Running a loud generator in a WALMART Parking is one thing but seems to be completely different situation of using a generator to extend your camping days when camping off the beaten paths. To me its apples and oranges...
