icecicle forming under icemaker

My norcold 1200 icemaker is making icecubes just fine, however an icecicle is forming under the fill part. Just started a couple weeks ago.
apparently when it fills the tray, some leaks and drips down.
Anyone dealt with this before?
It drips from at the outer edge by the lift arm.
  • Start by defrosting. If that does not fix it, remove the front cover of the ice maker and turn the screw that controls water volume to reduce volume.

    OK, thanks Brett
  • i was going to ask if you are level
soft ground settling, or levelrs bleeding down

Yes, quite level and it has been happening while traveling at different campgrounds and I set up level before extending slides.
  • RCTime; Please provide feedback on Wolfe 10's suggestion of turning the screw that controls water volume. I am having the same problem with the same refer as you have.

    Thanks, Bill.
  • Pull the icemaker and check it for corrosion water can wick off the IM and adjusting the screw will do nothing to prevent water from dripping. Inspect it first if the coating coming off replace it. Hard water will destroy IM after about five years sometimes sooner.
  • maybe your fill solenoid is not shutting water flow off
completely and the tray is overflowing.
  • When all else fails (like the tray has corroded through), you can replace the whole unit for about $50. I got mine at Lowes. Swap time was about a half hour.
  • corrosion caused by hard water is the cause of most icemaker problems. especially the push rod to get the cubes out. do you have a filter at the icemaker and is it current or several years old? Defrost first. The fill tube is extendable. Make sure it will collect all water, even the last drip. Level?
