Ideas for TV in camper.

Hello y'all. I am looking for suggestions on an inexpensive way to get TV (preferably not just local) to my hunting lease camper (very rural area in north Texas). I am out there approximately 7-8 days a month. We like to watch sports and my son occasionally likes to watch his shows as well.

I purchased an Amazon fire stick and figured i could hot spot from my phone. Sprint advised me that it would cost about 20.00 for 2 gigs of hot spot. I was told that that wouldn't be near enough. Is there any easier or more efficient ways that y'all could suggest? I am not the most tech savvy fellow so simple is better. :)

  • I use Direct TV at home. I use the camper year round. Hunt hogs, deer and predator. Always something to hunt. I have Sprint cell service.
  • What kinda TV you have at the stick house. Maybe DTV or Dish?
  • Dish pay-as-you-go would not help as he uses the service every month unless he meant every month during the Summer only. Both DirecTV and Dish will allow you to pause the service for up to 6 months if he is using the cabin at least 6 months per year. The services usually have a nice start up price for newbies and will install and provide hardware at no cost with contract.
To the OP, do you know what cellular services work at the cabin? T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T? You can look at a coverage map from each service to get a general idea but nothing works like trying it or asking a neighbor.
  • You might find it easier (and cheaper) to download a bunch of movies and TV shows to your device and use your laptop, phone or tablet to play them on your screen.

or DISH Network. DISH has a pay-as-you-go plan.
  • FMCA has some deal with Sprint for hotspotting. might be worth checking out. But nothing is cheap when it comes to cellular data.
