FYI, 6v golf cart batteries have the same footprint as a grp. 24, the height is the difference. If you have a single battery box, either add another or buy a double box. IMO, having only a single grp 24 is always going to be a problem. There are going to be those times when it gets really cold and you want the furnace running or there is some need for extended light after dark. By using the available capacity right to the threshold of 50% SOC use or beyond is just a formula for battery replacement.
For me, I dislike moving batteries around. There is nothing heavier I can think of in my rig that would be movable. IIRC, the batteries even out weigh the wheels.
