If you are 'into' charging batteries using cables from your truck, junk the existing 24 and install a AGM group 24. It will charge from the truck WAY THE HELL AND GONE faster* than your present battery. But and this is one BIG BUT!
You need to make sure your pickup has a SUPERB connection from the truck alternator to the truck battery. Use four gauge jumper cables. Not six gauge or eight gauge or ten gauge: FOUR GAUGE.
*In your case the expense of replacing the battery with a AGM is worth it. AGM charges WAY WAY FASTER.
