I think you have and 8900 series NOT an excaliber since the 8900 has no access door. It sounds like either a sail switch or a limit switch going bad. In either case these are NOT something you should fool with if you have no experience with this sort of thing. Your safest and in the long run cheapest way is a service tech. Return the door and put that money towards the repair.
