In Motion Satellite & Direct TV

Question

We have 2008 Fleetwood Discovery with satellite preset for Direct TV but are having problems getting it to work. Last fall we had wind damage to the dome and had the dome and satellite dish replaced. We had never tried the dish but on the trip we just got home from we could not get it to work.

Is there a secret to getting it to work or the wiring to the direct tv box? Which cables to use etc.

Did you turn on the Sat dish switch to let it search for the sat? What cables did you hook between the sat dish and the receiver?  Between the Receiver and the TV?  You are going to have to supply a bit more information as to what you tried that didn't work.  Do you by chance know the make/model of the sat dish?

Did it work when it was replaced and is just now not working?
So many pieces to this puzzle. What brand of dish do you have? What receiver? Do you have a Winegard distribution box that has satellite, antenna and cable buttons or is the sat wired directly? Are you getting an error message on the screen? Is your TV on channel 3 or 4?
