The condenser fan is a noisy little spud. I thought about replacing it with a quieter one as well as changing the airflow direction. In the end I decided to leave it as is for one reason:
-I didn't want to void the warranty on my new, expensive, fridge.
Besides, I might notice if it has failed if it gets quiet all of the sudden. The duct is an interesting idea, I might have gone that direction if I'd thought of it.
