Not true.
By being able to increase the output VOLTAGE to the batteries you ARE increasing the current which actually increases the wattage.
The issues that my happen with this setup is not having enough solar input to support the circuit (IE draw too much current from panel and the panel voltage drops below the min input voltage of the circuit).
Or forgetting to manually reduce the output voltage when not being used (IE storage) and boiling the batteries into the grave.
Or the actual "gain" in wattage is overall way to small to worry about.
Personally it is nice to see someone here thinking outside the RV box for once.
