I have the InnoTech Tire Pressure Monitoring System.Over all I am happy with it. I did have a different one and did not like the display.The InnoTech display shows the tires and rig as it appears (front at the top and rear at the bottom.no5 on the display means no sensor.I have had terrible luck with the sensors.The caps crackand when this happens the insides corrode all most instantly.Up to now Craig has replaced them for free. The unit is now two years old and I will not ask him to replace them for free any more.I went to purchase some off his site and the pricing does not make sense. Bulk Buying Options single $40.00 2 up to 4 $49.00 per item 5 up to 8 $44.00 per item Has anyone else been having this problem, and if so what did you do about it?Does anyone have a cheaper source for these sensors?

I've not heard of that brand but if I were you I would dump it as it sounds like you will continue to have problems with cracking sensors. My TST 507 system has been great for about 5 years with zero problems with the sensors. At the time I bought my TPMS system, TST and Pressure Pro were the big players. Both are good companies to deal with. Tireminder gets a lot of good press on this forum too.BTW, replacement sensors are expensive from all the companies as far as I know.

Looks very similar to mine which is a Tire Minder aka Minder Research systemThe sensors with Lion replaceable batteries Tire Minder gives you free batteries, every year, for 7 years. So i simply ever year removed the transmitters when the rig was stored for winter and got new batteries and new O rings. My system was about 4 years old and the thing went crazy alarms and no signal so i gave up on it. Later just to see what would happen decided to contact Minder Research via email. 1st response "we will give you a small discount on a new system"after a few more emails asking why would I consider buying this @#$%$# again when it dies so quickly. For $300 +++ it should be operational for many years 2nd response - So sorry to hear you have had issues please send the system to us and let us look it over. OK Why not my cost in shipping less than $5.00 so sent it off to Florida. Two weeks later after a few probing questions I get a USPS tracking # and a message saying we found your monitor to be defective and new version is on it's way to you. A week or more goes by and a package arrives. A few days later I installed the system and found it works like a champ all at a cost of only $5.00. They are good well intentioned folks however the made in China stuff is what it is ... Never had any issues with the transmitter caps cracking - do not over tighten them they are cheap plastic nothing more - get the O ring to seal finger tight and you should be good to go

There are several others out there that are the same units with different names.After the first cap cracked, I have only gone finger tight on the cap and then only touched the neraled edge just below the plastic cap on the body of the sensor to tighten the unit onto the valve stem.They still crack. I think I have now replaced all the original sensors, the new ones seem to be ok, I hope.

How can you be overall happy with the system and have terrible luck with the sensors? Dump it and search this Forum for `tpms' for more discussion. We have had Pressure Pro for several years.

I would guess that you have valve extentions that allow your sensors to hit on your wheel, the only senaro would be that a stone has hit it or the plastic caps have been over tightened.

I have the TireTracker. (Lifetime Warranty) One sensor failed and was immediately replaced. We just completed another 1500 mile trip with no false alarms. Scrolling through the tire pressure "menu" is comforting when it verifies that all is good.

Metal valve stems are a must.

I have the same system which I installed in 2014. It continues to work fine.

I do not use the locks, even when the rig is in storage.

I do not have any cracked sensor caps.

You can get 2 for $69 on Amazon...... that might be cheaper....

I have had the InnotechRV 10 Sensor Tire Pressure Monitoring System on my 5th wheel. I installed it about a year ago. Works great for me so far. I didn't install the locks on it because they are a pain to take off when you want to add air to the tires. After a while it shuts off on its own. Does anyone know if there is a setting so it will stay on all the time while traveling? I lost the owners manual and I can't find it online.

Glenn, as far as I know, all the sensors are proprietary and available only from the mfg. Same with TST and TST sensors are not cheap either.

I have the TireTraker system. The monitor and the sensors look exactly like your unit. I, too, think that you are over tightening the caps on the sensors. Just finger tight and nothing more.
With that being said, I do not like my system. Too many false readings. Have replaced several of the sensors and the monitor (all on the company's dime), but I would much rather have a proper functioning system like I did with my old Pressure Pro system.

Yes, you are correct, but everybody uses their own sensors and the they are not compatible with other systems, thus the recommendation to dump.

Up to now I have not had to pay for the sensors, I pull a trailer with two axles so we are talking about a ten sensor system.

So I buy a new ten sensor system or I buy two sensors ($429.00 Ten sensor TPMS or $80.00 for two new sensors)

I guess the point is the question was

Has anyone else been having this problem, and if so what did you do about it?

Not do I replace the system?
