Inside the freezer ...

So, does anyone know just what the designed intent of the racks, compartments or whatever you might call them inside the door of my Dometic freezer? Big enough to take up space, too small to hold anything practical that I've tried to put in them.

  • I also use the left one for Blue Ice pacs..the right one for what ever I have in large plastic sacks at the time. The left one has been used for smaller plastic sacks ie pepperoni slices etc. in the past. "Necessity is the mother of invention"!

Left one is a can dispenser. Frozen OJ or Apple Juice cans (standard size) might fitm,, Don't know.

Right one holds Yeast in my RV... I bake my own bread and buy yeast in a fairly large bag, transfer some to a jar (Which goes in the fridge) the rest is frozen.. I also have been known to stack re-freezable "Ice Packs" (Blue Ice or equal) in them (Polar Packs) I get a couple of those every quarter after all.
  • You should get about 20X the sum total of brain matter easily into those compartments. The brain matter of the idiots who design gas absorbsion refrigerators. Yeah technology! Like the center of the steering wheel electric pushbutton gear selector on the '59 Edsel.

This and 9,001 other points of dubious manufacturer elucidation caused me to put forth the effort of creating my own RV.

    You have my sympathy.
  • I asked the salesman about the same thing when we had our ViewFinder. He said the one of the left was for canned juice (load from the top and take from the bottom.) Never tried it though.

The one on the right we put a container with a plastic bag inside and used it to hold our "wet trash" until we could make a run to the Dumpster. (tea bags, coffee grounds, etc.)
