Installing a 120V-30amps outlet

If you use this type of Mounting block, you can install an RV-30 receptacle with mounting plate in the box. Home Depot also sells exterior boxes with "in use" covers.

Finding an in-use cover for a 30amp plug may be rather hard. Check with an electric supply(wholesale) place. Better info than a big box store.

I saw that you read "how to do it" but here's a tip. Check voltages at the main breaker box from line 1 to neutral then line 2 to neutral. Select the line with the greater voltage. In a straight line, if the distance from the breaker to your outlet (receptacle) is greater than 40' I would consider using only 8AWG wire, absolutely nothing smaller (meaning no higher number gauge wire).

With breaker OFF, smear dialectric silicone grease on outlet terminals if you live where humidity gets 60& or higher.

I just got an outlet box at my RV dealer.. Looked good.

The Home Depot link above is an exact match for it.. I like the fact that the door opens UP and thus has a natural tendency to close.

Fed it with a 20 amp breaker though due to the size wire that was already there.

I used the Connecticut Electric box with breaker. I bought it at Amazon. It is very good quality and weathertight.

I don't think I'll be getting a bigger trailer anytime soon, but who knows? Right? If I did I know how to wire for it also. Maybe I'll win a lottery!!!!! Yeah!! Right!! I was just looking for that type of waterproof box, which also looks good. Thanks for posting it for me.

Don't know why they call it "temporary" but works well.

If you MAY get a bigger trailer/rv, wire it thicker 3 conductor + ground wire so you can install a 50 amp receptacle. I did something a little different, but I don't want to confuse you or start a debate.
