You may keep any vents open.
IMO, vent/hatch on the side is not necessary and creates another point of entry for thieves. Both vent on the wall and vent on the roof have no means to close temporarily like you do with a window or a bathroom vent, when it's cold, windy or rainy. These are the reasons why many people choose to permanently plug both vents.
