Intellipower 9260 issues

Does the fan on your 9260 ever operate? Mine doesn't no matter what the power draw or ambient temperature. Meanwhile the case gets very hot to the touch. Progressive Dynamics simply says if the output voltages are correct, don't worry about it. I think the fan's defective. Anybody have any suggestions or experiences to compare with?

If you are really worried.. Pick up a new multi-meter.. I have a nice Crafstman with clamp on AC/DC probe for amps *(Yes measures DC amps with a clamp on)

It also measures point temps with a probe.

Or an I/R Gun to measure temps

if you see temps over 150, Call PDI and find out if the fan should be fanning, Below 100 no worries (not sure the cut off temp).
  • I have the 9260 and I don't think I've ever heard the fan. I would not worry about it.

I have a 9180 with Wizard, Fan runs when it gets hot.. You can stick a temp probe in there to measure how hot it's getting, and/or hook on test gear, bypass t-stats and such.

Yes, sometimes fans fail. Likewise the T-Stat
