When similar devices are connected in parallel, the overall circuit current is the sum of the currents of individual devices or strings. The overall voltage is the same as the average voltage of all the devices connected in parallel.
As opposed to series connections, PV devices with dissimilar current output mayu be connected in parallel. This commonly occurs when an existing array is expanded.
