Ethanol does not make for a clean fuel (post combustion), nor does it have an equivilant BTU energy content of gasoline, while there is a overall net GAIN in pollution due to ethanol’s production...
The effect of burning Ethanol produces clouds of formaldehyde over our cities that can be seen only in infra red (out of sight, out of mind..).
Of course, none of this really matters...What does really matter with ethanol, water resource management, and other NIMBY (e.g. power distribution demand) initiatives is the ‘feel good intent’ provided by an unreasoned, joggurnaut of politically-centric mandates...
