We pick up our used toyhauler next Wednesday. It has a residential fridge. That is where my battery concern starts. Dealer agreed to put in two new group 24 12 volts. I inquired about upgrading to two 31's. They said add $120 as that is what a group 31 would cost them and they can get two 24's for $60 each. Would my best bet still be two 6 volts?
ABSOLUTELY !
As Gdetrailer stated, a pair of "average" 6V GC2 golf cart batteries has the capacity of 210Ah.
A pair of "dual purpose" Group 24 batteries is approximately 150Ah. They cost more than "average" GC2 golf cart batteries
A pair of "dual purpose" Group 31 batteries is approximately 210Ah. They are physically larger than a pair of GC2 or Group 24 batteries. They cost more than "dual purpose" Group 24 batteries
The only reason RV dealers and camping stores sell them is better marketing !
