A sealed unit would be more appropriate for direct water splashing, dust storms, dirt, etc. Also for mounting extremely near vent caps of flooded batteries. Also for explosion resistant locations. For general use without these caveats I believe sealed would be of questionable value.
Ok water should not be an issue as I plan on an enclosure around everything, If heat is an issue I could install a cooling fan to pull air through the enclosure so I suppose dust could be an issue. Sealed batteries but I am also going to put them in sealed boxes and vent them outside the cab. I just have to figure out a mounting system so I don't have a 160lb battery coming through my back in a head on collision or getting loose in a roll over.
