Inverter fan noise solutions?

My inverters are both kind of noisy now. Before I disassemble, I was wondering if there are any easy fixes. I'm thinking the fans might need lubrication since they are several years old. I'm unclear about what would be the best lubricant. I suppose it's possible the fans need to be replaced, but they haven't really been used that much.

How do you maintain your inverter(s) or fix fan noise?

    WD40

ADDED NOTE - OK GUYS and GALS give me some slack... I have WD40-DUCT TAPE-WINDEX-LONG SCREWDRIVER-Hand grips-A roll of toilet paper in my truck inside door pocket.

I grab what I need first...

I guess the WD40 blows away the debris but it does give me noise relief and is handy to use with the long blow tube...

The WD40 will knock down a nasty yellow jacket too...

I'll be your whipping Boy for alittle while... Its OK... I need a good laugh once in awhile

  • First thing you do is go down there and look at them and inspect them. Is it filthy dirty inside the fans location? Clean it up. Are the bearings noisy? Is there slop or play in the fans bearings, up or down, or side to side, due to excessive wear?

That's the basics, if worn out, replace.
