The Honda EU3000iS is the quietest way to run an RV air conditioner with a portable generator ... quite a bit quieter than a single or dual set of the Honda EU2000i. The EU3000iS noise level is 49dB at 1/4 power, so at a power level to run an RV's 13.5K A/C it would most likely still have a noise level of 50dB or less. The Honda EU2000i starts at an idle noise level of 53dB, and of course would be much louder (up to 59dB at full power) when rev'd up to run a 13.5K A/C unit.
I've camped next to a camper using a Honda EU2000i to power something that caused the generator to have to rev up and down (probably a small A/C or a long cooking run of their microwave oven). It's 59dB sound was quite irritating (kind of a sharp, somewhat high frequency metalic sound) when it was running at the high end of it's RPM range (I believe it's high end RPM is above 4000RPM) ... probably more irritating than that of a well sound-designed 3600 RPM constant speed generator of the same maximum power rating. The reason most owners consider the Honda EU2000i as "quiet" is probably because the generator is only used most of the time for supplying loads that require way less than it's maximum RPM.
As a point of reference, we use a little 3600 RPM constant speed four cycle generator for battery charging when we camp. It's constant speed noise level is 54dB regardless of what load it is delivering, so it's sound level is very "low sounding" anyway and it's constant RPM sound frequencey is lower than the maximum RPM sound frequency of the inverter Honda generators.
The Honda EU3000i is the way to go for powering a single RV air conditioner ... if one can afford it and lift it.
