Yes the converter in this case seems to have a standing draw of about 5 amps which doesn't get any worse when you add loads. The individual loads have the same amps as usual.
That 5 amps is like leaving a couple of 12v lights on all the time, but would be covered by solar during the day.
Could be done with another converter type gizmo for fewer amps I suppose.
I just wanted to test the actual amps using this method after some confusion arose in another thread.
