It is pretty interesting for anyone contemplating a remote inverter. I have considered more than once adding my 220amp alternator's output to a battery bank, and feeding an inverter located very close to the alternator in the pickup (some farmers put them under hood but the inverter OEMs hate you to do that).
Then the only run to the RV could be the shore power cord. This is much the same situation as BFL is testing.
Add solar to pickup for good measure.
