I'm using a Xantrex ProWatt SW2000 inverter. You can see pics and see a video of full capacity testing here:
http://2manytoyz.com/prowattsw2000.htmlThat review is almost 3 years old. This inverter has run 24/7/365 since then, with few exceptions (shutdown while working on system).
It lives in my garage in FL, lots of heat/humidity most of the year. I can run almost all my shop tools with it, with the exception of a large air compressor, and a 1960s era radial arm saw. Tablesaw, shopvac, sanders, bench grinder, MIG welder, etc., no problem. The output waveform is cleaner than grid power!
I'm also powering portions of my house with it, including my office with several computers, HAM radio gear, etc.
I'll be adding more solar panels to the roof of my house this Summer, and will power more of my house with this inverter (two fridges, washing machine, more lighting, etc.).
I have to be a little cautious of not running everything at once, or the inverter will shutdown. But the only time I've experienced that was trying to start the two power tools already mentioned.
I wouldn't hesitate to use this model in our camper, which would be a far easier life than my current one is living...
Sold at lots of places. Hodges Marine is selling it for $336, so you can use that as a benchmark when pricing.
I have NO affiliation with anyone.
