My PV1250 inverter is a rather smart inverter, it KNOWs when a AC load is present and turns on and when the load is turned of it turns off. Saves a lot of battery capacity, lessens that length of gen run time required.
Hard to conserve battery if your inverter is running 24/7, a lot of Ahrs are being burned up by an idle inverter (Up to 2.5A per hr).
Ya folks can do what you wish but I am presenting REAL life, there are many folks who simply do not, will not ever remember to do required steps in a predictable way (remember the time you had to set the time on a VCR?). I do, I can't tell you how many customers would call back for help on setting the time :S even worse yet was the VCRS that HAD the instructions PRINTED ON THE FRONT of the VCR.
