Despite what poster above says :S there is more than one way go about it.
Our route was a 1000 watt pure sine inverter and solar charging. Converter breaker is always off since we really don't use it anymore. Fridge on propane only as a rule and microwave breaker turned off, unless we're plugged in. Trailer get's plugged into the inverter which is used sparingly via a remote on-off switch when we need it. Inverter power on consumption with no load is only 320 ma (7.68 ah per day) so even if it's left on for a bit it doesn't make much of a difference.
So it works fine, not quite hassle free but very workable.
