New unit can draw over twice the amperage from the batteries, or at least try.
12 volt wiring would need to up sized unless you leave fusing in place from 1000 mwatt unit. It may blow fuses if too small.
The incoming 120 volt amperage will increase. verify size of circuit breaker.
