check the voltage on ALL batteries
engine and RV
the voltage at inverter should be nearly the same as voltage on the RV batteries
the RV and engine batteries should not be connected directly to together , there should be relay or solid state isolator between them
the 11.4v might be in charge path from the alternator via 'isolater'
i'm not there, looking at the wires and checking the voltage doing the tracing
