I hit the search engines and found two common things associated with your suspected failure: (1) Bad control board, and (2) Blown internal fuse(s). Since the fuse(s) are on at least one board, a board with a blown fuse could possibly be considered a bad board. Go through these 2 threads for info and a few pictures. One post claims you can determine if one of the fuses is blown by just measuring resistance at the AC input.
