As Doug said, once it's there taking it apart is the only way to clean it.

It is NOT the grove where the blade seats when closed.
There is NO WAY to take apart the valve body where the blade resides in the OPEN position.
The junk is inside the RECTANGULAR shaped portion sticking the blade.
I see that Camco has a rod operated valve, and Bristol has a cable operated model but it might have the same flaw. I need to see one.
