Is there a cordless hand vac that will charge using DC?

On my last trip, we stopped by the father-in-laws for a few days. Before leaving, I noticed his corded DC car vac and borrowed it to do a quick cleanup of the trailer using the 12 volt DC outlet in my trailer.

I enjoyed the convenience of the quick vacuum and thought I'd go out buy myself a DC car vac. I have noticed all the corded DC vacuums get fairly marginal reviews due to a lack of power while some of the cordless get better reviews. Not surprisingly, all the cordless vacuums charge using AC power.

Couldn't a cordless be produced that would charge using a DC outlet if it was done at a slower rate? My electronics knowledge has gone out the window from 25 years of lack of use. Is it due to the fact the a trailer battery is 12 volts and the rechargeable batteries on a hand vac are 16 to 20?
