Scanning the thread you didn't mention how much power you were looking for. The only generator I am aware of that's as quiet as an inverter Honda is an old EX650, and its probably quieter at full load than a 1000 simply because of the exhaust tuning even though a noise measurement is the same.
As far as inverter generators vs. a real "inverter" for the RV, those are two completely unrelated things. One can arguably say there are "inverters" and "converters" in every piece of electronic equipment on the planet, and this is one of them.
BTW- my old EX650 is a direct-drive real AC generator, and its output waveform is as clean as any of the current generation Honda Inverter Generators. The only difference is that you can see the frequency drift on the non inverter since it's all mechanical regulation of the carb. Welcome to old school.
