I'm wild-eyed enough to prefer solar, but am stressed out about trying to get a setup installed within time constraints I have this summer. A genny seems like the way to go, but I don't want to spend all my money bec I really want solar next year.
As for usage, I have some work equipment that is battery powered. I use half a kw per day on house stuff (120v fridge/freezer, heat, etc), and work stuff varies from 0 to about a kw, maybe 1.5 on a huge day. The fridge has a big startup surge, is 67 watts after that.
I need electric start because of old injuries (shoulder, back).
