Is there a quiet NON inverter generator?

I haven't found one, searching other sites.

For those out of the loop, I decided on a generator, not solar, due to pit bull attack on my cat that ate up all the time (and most of the money) I had this year for solar install.

Now I am shopping, but need something cheap.

If I need to get a separate inverter next year for use with solar, it seems pointless to get an inverter that has one built in for extra $$.

I do need electric start, though.

  • Yes inverter "generators" are cleaner power. It still has nothing to do with solar and using an inverter. If you buy an inverter and connect it to your battery you can get them in pure sine wave or modified.

Start at the beginning of your build or your needs. Tell us what you are trying to do. My short answer if you are in a van and dont have heavy power needs like ac, hair dryer, toaster or microwave is to go solar

    Explain?

What I read elsewhere is that inverter gennies have PSW output and non-inverter ones have MSW.

    Is that wrong?
  • Why do you need electric start. It will limit you to larger units usually. There is a guy who builds electric start kits for small Hondas etc but its probably big bucks.
  • An invert generator is not just a built in inverter. It is a design of a generator. An inverter that you connect to your battery to create 120 volts ac has nothing to do with generators.
