jayco seneca- sanitizing water tanks

Just purchased a2006 Seneca. Trying to get the bleach/water solution to syphon into the water tanks to sanitize the system. Cannot get the solution to go into the tank. Anyone have a solution? The manual is of no help.
Thanks

  • Can you put some bleach and water in a jug and use the pump winterizing connection and turn the water tank fill valve to pump it into the tank?
  • Put it in the hose. That way the hose as well as RV plumbing and tank will be sanitized.
  • You should have 2 water inlets.
One you hook the hose to provide water to RV.
And the gravity feed opening that 'fills' your fresh water tank.

Plastic funnel with long flexible end placed into gravity feed opening and pour bleach in which goes directly to your fresh water tank.

6 bucks at any parts or hardware store. It's what I use to get anti freeze directly into fresh tank to winterize the RV.
  • I pour the bleach into my empty water hose, then use the city water fill. Open valve to fill fresh water tank and it goes in with no problem.
