Jensen Media Pro 5000 Player

Hello everybody,

I'm the new guy. I have a 2008 Keystone Hornet with a Jensen Media Pro 5000 player that no longer works. It cannot be fixed. I have read that this unit is a piece of junk. I'm wondering if I should get another duplicate player or get a replacement from another manufacturer. Any suggestions on which brand is good and if it will be compatible with the wiring???

  • Give the guys and gals at Crutchfield a call. They're a great source of knowledge.
  • Jensen like WIFCO is junk. RV builders use them because they are cheap to buy.
  • I faced a similar situation this last winter. I really wanted to get an RV-specific stereo, but every time I got excited on one and read the reviews, I got un-excited in a hurry. I ended up using a Boss 2-din radio with DVD player and touchscreen from Crutchfield. It has a knob for the volume control (which seems to be going out of style in a hurry) and a remote that has real buttons as opposed to most of them with the matrix of membrane buttons. The physical and electrical parts of the installation were a bit complicated, but I like it a lot more than the stock RV stereo which lasted for 10 years.
  • Thank you everyone for your advice. I will check out Crutchfield.

More like they used to be a great source of knowledge which went by the wayside sometime in the 1990's. Now days you get one of the Crutchfield supposed expert audiophiles, who writes up a smoke blowin up your rear review about an overpriced pile of junk such as this. Hey, it has a -$150.00 price break, only $249.00 LOL. It's not worth $2.49
