Question; should I do any maintenance on those bad boys?
ON a regular basis (monthly at least) Inspect to determine the fluid level in the cells,, If it is getting down near the top of the plates top off with DISTILLED WATER to a level 1/8 to 1/4 inch BELOW the bottom of the filler tubes.. Clean as needed (Visual inspecgtion here)
To clean.. First make sure battery is "Capped" (no open cells) then make a paste of baking soda and water.. A nylon detail brush or tooth is used to apply paste to terminals (after disconnect) note there may be some "Fizzing" also spread around a bit.. When you are done dilute rest of paste and pour over batteries but protect cells.. Hose with tap water till all the paste residue is gone.. Apply terminal treatments and re-connect.
