The OP said HE ALREADY HAS the float chargers. Or did I misread something. Color of a different color if starting from scratch. One of these days I am going to get a Megawatt and assortment of 1-watt thermistors and make a GENUINE battery float charger. All 40 amps worth of temperature compensated float DIRECT from battery terminal temperature using telephone line. A thermistor must be located well and hell and gone away from a charger of any worth. Plastering it to a battery is best. That solution compromises the time of exposure / capacitor issue but sixty five dollars is a lot cheaper than $220
