keyless entry problems

We have a 2017 Jayco Greyhawk which we bought used a few weeks ago. It has a Bauer keyless entry system which doesn't work. We changed the batteries today, but no luck in locking or unlocking with the keypad. Before we bought the mh, we were given a walk through which included a demo of everything including keyless entry. It worked at the time, but I'm now suspicious it may never have been locked. The door requires a really hard yank to open so a person might assume it was locked when it wasn't. My question is: should you hear a beep when the code is entered and door is unlocked? Any ideas to fix the problem?

If you have the Manual, there's troubleshooting, and a phone number to call for help 866-682-2837 - I'd deal with lock manufacturer before dealer or Jayco.
I found the manual with gOOgle Bauer Keyless Entry System. Downloaded and filed if you need a copy.
  • On the Bauer lock. IF you pull the door handle BEFORE you enter the code because you want to check to see if it is unlocked----YOU MUST THEN PUSH THE DOOR TO SHUT IT TIGHTER AGAIN. Do not do that and when you enter the code the pressure on the deadbolt will not allow it to move. As another poster stated, once you replace the batteries you must use the 3715 code until you reset to a new code. The beep is extremely hard to hear as is seeing the buttons lighting up. You can leave the door open and test the open and close and watch the deadbolt move in and out. There is NO fuse on this system. I have replaced numerous AA batteries that the customer SWORE were new and good but all 4 were all at 1.3 to 1.4 volts instead of 1.5 or higher. Then the Bauer worked. Doug
