K&N intake air system

At WOT near the redline - maybe. Real world - no. As far as letting grit past the filter and into the engine, that is what the EGR is for.

One study says Napa gold air filters filter best with least restriction. Amsoil is actually a bit better, but 20% more in cost.

I've used them and no I could not tell they helped. It did dust down the air intake tube after the filter. They are not adequate.

:S :S X2. But it will let******into your intake and make the engine sound semi-cool under acceleration. If you love your truck, leave it stock. A lighter touch on the "go" pedal will give you a better chance at saving a little fuel.

MPG...No. It CAN improve horsepower at high RPMs but not where folks generally like to tow. This is assuming it's on a gas fueled engine.
