Well I didn't get out to the RV today. The wife drug me off to a home tour thing that burned my morning and then when I went out back to the RV, I found the rear window of my truck canopy had exploded from this nice Florida sun. Cleaning up that fiasco ruined my afternoon.
I was expecting to find some limit switch on the order that Havey showed but there was nothing there. The only two wires down there go to the motor. I thought maybe the motor is stopping when an amperage jump is detected but that in itself would not turn a light on and off up at the dash. I guess I will have to trace the wires all the way from the dash back to the step switch.
I don't know if it's do-able or not but I think I will see if the auto controller can be added to this model step. I had one before that had the magnetic switch on the door jam and screen door. I remember there was a brain-box screwed to the bottom of the step near the motor. It worked good.
