Saves me twenty-mintues bending with an agnonizing disc and three hours of resting in a chair. A moderate voltage enters the ECU showing the field is active, system voltage is not degrading so the idiot light stays off. Mopar alternator field connections are .250" male push-on connectors, so 1/4" FEMALE push on connectors crimped to 16 AWG extension wires will allow you to mount the resistor anywhere you like AND PERMIT a fast disconnect and re-fasten to the field terminals to make it original. An inch and a half of NON adhesive 1/2" shrink tubing at each connection should make a sound termination. Dont need a perfect fit. I wouldn't mount that resistor flat on plastic fenderwell I would use 1/2" standoffs.
