Thats an economics issue. During peak use periods they produce power by allowing water out, but pumping it back always uses more energy than it creates, But, since power is worth more during peak use times the difference in cost to pump it back can be overcome at night when consumption, and price per Kw are lower.

No, but, I've never said its not real, I question mans effect on it.
Did you see the charts folks put on here earlier? Temps in the dark ages were warmer than now, Have read the data on those. When a volcano of any size blows global changes occur, but a single volcano also does more to the world than man has ever been able to do.
The French National institute of Science in Lyon acknowledged that carbon levels in tree growth rings from the middle ages showed more carbon in the atmosphere and warmer temps than today, so what do you want?

Some segments I read here on this forum remind me of Al Gore. Ranting, foaming at the mouth, while his electrical bill averaged $5,500 month at his mansion and consumed 20,000 gallons of water per month.

In the Antelope Valley I took advantage of low humidity. A huge swamp cooler. Cut my electrical bill 80% versus air conditioning. Casita in Michoacan has SIX INCHES of foam board on the walls and double that on the ceiling. Roof is corrugated opaque fiberglass sheeting four inches above concrete and it is removable. Result?

95F day. 75% relative humidity. 830 square feet. A single window 5,000 BTU A/C unit cycles about 70/30 keeping temp at 78F. After sundown the ratio inverts to 30/70

I would tend to want to audit my own energy consumption and number of manufacturing energy intensive to build throwaways before I would dare to preach to anyone else...

BTW, are large "lithium batteries" still really only a whole bunch of little lithium batteries wired together into an array ... or have they finally figured out how to scale a single lithium cell up to huge sizes? If not, there's an awful lot of connections required to create large lithium battery storage capacity - and we all know how the reliability of many connections stacks up against the reliability of just a few connections.
