Wonderful. Take a system that has been working flawlessly for ninety years and screw it up in the name of "progress". Like Ford's 2-thread spark plugs in an aluminum head or GMs exposed slip ring end CS130 alternator bearing that magnetizes because of rotor flux. Six months passes and wipe your finger across the exposed bearing and the steel detritus may draw blood.
ANY CYCLING increases total kWh recharging which INCREASES aggregate positive plate erosion. This isn't guesswork. MHE. Pure MHE. What is "MHE"?

I would LOVE to see an MEs white paper that details explicit data with regards to advantages of "cycling recharging" versus temperature compensated constant voltage.
If something is made complicated the maintenance factor goes to the SQUARE of complication.
