Does anyone know best place to get lawn chair webbing? Have a couple lounge chairs to re do and Amazon etc. seems to be pretty pricey for a 100 foot roll. Thanks, Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
Yeah I always have to keep in mind where I am. The last lawn chairs I priced were chaisse lounges in Siriana. Equal to something like 122 dollars each. Segundas which are second-hand stores sometimes sell chairs with rusted rivets and ready-to-snap webbing for 25-dollars. Gotta FIX things down here. Hopefully so they last a long time.
well, decided to just keep the ones we have, and found a couple more a t a sale. so instead of re-webbing and fixing rivets, and against my better judgement, i guess i have to retire the old worn ones and suck it up and buy a couple more, maybe an excuse for another Christmas present. I purchased a couple of one hundred dollar chairs. The webbing of couse deteriorated.
Now, a person can GOOGLE for this stuff I had to do it the hard way.
KEVLAR FABRIC KEVLAR THREAD
Fourteen years later the webbing looks like new. The chairs remain outside. I slapped six coats of marine varnish on the aluminum tubes and bars. After I kick the bucket jesus and brenda will pass them down to the grandkids on and onward.
It wan't cheap but it turns out cheaper in the long run by far. If your chairs are worth it in the first place. Try to avoid BALLISTIC grade Kevlar too thick and too stiff.
If you don't mind the color black, go to Home Depot. In the aisle with the A/C and heating duct work is rolls of black webbing used for hanging ductwork. Pretty tough stuff and should work for this application.
