Just for drill if this is feasible, room and access-wise, try to ventilate the area of the converter charger. If playing a fan on the converter makes it misbehave less often the that's pretty much a bullet-proof condemnation of the converter. Access-wise, good luck. Sounds like a Progressive Dynamics is in your future.
